Today we met Brent and Jackie in the neighborhood at Howard's Cafe for breakfast. Instead of the train, Brent drove us around. We headed down to an area called Golden Gate National Recreation Area, including the Golden Gate Bridge, Fort Point, Crissy Field and Fort Mason. The sky was so blue and there was hardly any fog - very unusual!
Under the bridge at Fort Point
This sea lion was swimming around where a couple
had some crab traps. He would dive down and could
open their crab trap and was stealing crabs!

This particular labyrinth pattern was created in
1201 for Chartres Cathedral in France. It is the
same pattern as the one outside.
Graced With Light - The Ribbon Project
The Ribbon Project is a stunning, music-inspired installation that incorporates Grace Cathedral's vaulted ceiling arches and nearly 20 miles of ribbon. The artist envisioned a series of light pathways, connecting heaven and earth, manifest as ribbons. The ribbons carry our prayers, dreams and wishes skyward, and, in turn, grace streams down the ribbons to us. The blue ribbons were installed in March 2013. In May and June, hundreds of community members wrote their prayers, hopes, and wishes on the red ribbons, which were installed in early July. At the end of this year, the ribbons will be removed.
We had planned to eat lunch at one of Brent and Jackie's favorite Japanese restaurants but it is closed on Tuesdays so went to the Pacific Catch instead and had a wonderful seafood lunch. After a couple other stops, we headed back to Brent and Jackie's to visit and relax. That night we watched the Royals and Oakland baseball game. Brent was so excited because his Royals team won! We went back to the hotel to get ready for our trip to Yosemite tomorrow.
